Limits

An AI-assistant connection has its own, lower limits than a Freight Right API token. They are counted separately, so an assistant can never spend your integration's capacity. freightright_get_account shows yours and what is used.

Typical assistant limit
Instant price checks 10 a minute, 1 at a time, 200 a month
Quote requests 5 an hour, 10 a day, 30 a month
Requests to our team 20 drafts and 5 submissions per organization per day
Reads (shipments, quotes, requests, account) 60 a minute
A shipment's billing, customs, documents and the events feed 30 a minute, 2 at a time

A booked instant offer counts as one quote request. Monthly counters reset at the start of the month (UTC), daily ones at midnight UTC, and the assistant is told exactly when if it runs out.

The events feed is read by an assistant on request. A job that polls it every few minutes uses your personal API token, not the connector (automation).

When a limit is reached, the answer says so with the wait. It is never an error you should retry blindly. When Freight Right is busy, the answer says how many seconds to wait.

One price check at a time

An assistant can have one price check running for your account at a time. If it starts another, it is told to wait or to collect the one already running, which is also why hanging up on a price check does not waste it: it finishes, and the result is there to collect.

An unused connection ends itself

Each connection runs on an 8-hour lease that the assistant renews by using it. A connection whose lease has run out is inactive, not gone: it renews on the assistant's next call. One that has read or written nothing through Freight Right for 30 days is ended, by the hourly sweep or at that next call, whichever comes first, and the assistant asks you to connect again. Renewing alone does not count as use.

A retry is never charged twice

Every price check carries a key of its own. If the connector is replaced at the exact moment between a price check reaching Freight Right and its result being stored, the retry returns that same answer, the same offers, with the validity they were quoted with, and costs nothing. Asking for the same lane again later is a new price check, and prices afresh, as it should.
